Reporting to the Executive Director of Center for Cell and Gene Therapy, conducts pharmaeconomic analysis of new and existing Cell and Gene therapy products and their pricing methodologies. This includes creation and maintenance of pricing models, support of manufacturer negotiations and presentations at the BCBS national Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee on pharmaeconomic outcomes. Position will be responsible for being the subject matter expert in all aspects of pricing and utilization analysis for cell and gene therapies, both those on the market as well as those in the pipeline.

Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develops economic models for new and existing cell and gene therapy drugs, the manufacturer offerings for outcomes based contracts and how the products will affect Plan budgets.
Meets with manufacturers clinical and pricing teams to develop models and pricing understanding
• Presents pharmaeconomic overviews to the national P&T committee and presents models and recalibrate them based on feedback at the Value Assessment Committee
• Supports manufacturer negotiations by analyzing manufacturer counter offers and value based arrangements
• Provides support to volume based contracting aspects of the Performance driven entity by providing economic modeling for various rebate offerings from manufacturers
• Keeps abreast of and interprets trends within the pharmaceutical marketplace and healthcare industry which could affect pricing, delivery system, and benefit coverage and provider utilization and works with the executive director to formulate strategies to support BCBS Plans

Requirements Required Basic Qualifications:
• Masters Degree Degree related to Pharmaeconomic evaluation
• 3 rears residency or 2-3 years of work experience in the Health Plan, PBM or pharmaceutical manufacturer
• Experience in the application of pharmaeconomic principles in either PBM, health Plan or pharmaceutical manufacture
• Experience with negotiations for pharmaceutical products
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of the Association, Plans, government agencies and vendors
• Communication skills, written and oral
• Technical proficiency with information technologies (Microsoft software applications e.g. Excel) is required

Preferred Basic Qualifications:
• Doctorate Degree PharmD or equivalent training
