Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this knowledge-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacist participants should be able to:
1. Discuss pharmacogenomics and review appropriate pharmacogenomics resources, such as CPIC and PharmGKB, to recognize how a patient's genetic profile can lead to different pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions with their medications.
2. Recognize if the pharmacogenomics data that is available for a patient can be utilized in developing a therapeutic plan.
3. Translate pharmacogenomics data and discuss pharmacogenomics-based medication recommendations with patients and clinicians.
4. List key components required to implement pharmacogenomics services on a small scale vs at a system level.
