ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
All Illinois health-system pharmacy practitioners, including pharmacists, pharmacy residents, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students are invited to submit projects for consideration. The submitting author must be a current ICHP member. If a student is listed as the submitting author for an original presentation, the poster will be eligible for the student award.
The submitting author is expected to present the poster. If attendance is not possible due to legitimate circumstances, another pharmacy professional listed as an author may present the poster during the Spring Meeting poster exhibit session.
All poster presenters must be registered for the Spring Meeting and complete ACPE-required forms (as requested).
Poster submissions should be submitted through the ICHP website.
REVIEW OF SUBMISSIONS
All submissions from eligible authors received by the designated deadline will undergo anonymous review by the Educational Affairs Division Poster Review Committee to determine suitability for presentation. Submissions will be evaluated and scored on the following criteria:
* Originality and relevance to health-system pharmacy
* Objectives
* Methods
* Results
* Conclusions/implications
Minimum Scores for Acceptance
Acceptance is determined by minimum score requirements that differ based on submission of results and conclusions:
* Original Research, Encore, and Case Report/Series: Minimum score of 5
* Research in Progress: Minimum score of 3
Each abstract is scored independently by two blinded reviewers. An abstract is accepted if both reviewers meet the minimum score. In the event of a split decision, a third blinded reviewer will score the abstract. Acceptance requires the third blinded reviewer to meet the minimum score.
Further details may be found on the Abstract Scoring Sheet.
Platform Presentation Selection Scoring
The two highest scoring Original Research abstracts (minimum score of 7) will be invited to present during the platform presentation session at the Spring Meeting. If no Original Research abstracts qualify, Encore abstracts that meet the minimum score of 7 requirement may be considered. Invited platform presenters who opt out of the platform session remain eligible for a poster award. The next highest-scoring abstract will be invited to participate.
Original Research and Research in Progress Scoring
The five highest-scoring abstracts from the Original Research and Research in Progress categories combined will be eligible for the "Best Original Poster" award.
Encore Presentation Scoring
The five highest-scoring abstracts in the Encore category will be eligible for the "Best Encore Poster" award.
Student Research Scoring
The five highest-scoring abstracts in the student category will be eligible for the "Best Student Poster" award.
POSTER ACCEPTANCE AND NOTIFICATION
All poster submissions received by the deadline will be reviewed on their merits; however, space limitations may restrict the number of posters accepted for presentation. Authors are therefore encouraged to submit early, as posters may be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis in such cases.
Submitting authors will be notified by email whether their poster has been accepted as a platform or poster presentation. Authors whose posters are not accepted will receive a detailed explanation of the committee's decision.
POSTER SIZE:
Posters should fit on a 4-ft by 8-ft standing poster board.
AWARDS:
All posters and platform presentations will be judged during the ICHP Spring Meeting, and winners will be announced at that time.
