Learning Objectives for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians:
1. Distinguish Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) from suicide, euthanasia, palliative sedation, and withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment.
2. Describe key eligibility, process, and safeguard provisions in Deb's Law.
3. Examine the roles and responsibilities pharmacy professionals hold in the medical aid in dying process.
4. Identify the ethical, legal, and institutional considerations that may influence the implementation of MAiD.
Accreditation: The Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. As an ACPE accredited provider, ICHP will continue to include Technician specific programming in most if not all of our CPE programming.
