Guidelines for KeePosted™ Articles on Medication Safety Pearls
Thank you for agreeing to share your successful program with the ICHP membership. Our hope is to continually identify practices that are addressing important safety issues across the state and present these to the ICHP members through KeePosted™ articles, presentations at the annual/spring meetings and through other means to be identified. Through this sharing, ICHP members will be exposed to significant practices that can help improve medication use at their institutions.
Guidelines for Article Submission
Below are some general guidelines for article submission. Please try to address each bullet point within your article. If there are areas not identified below that you feel need to be mentioned in your submission, please do so.
- Maximum word length – 1000 words—BUT, we are looking for a safety pearl, so it does not have to be lengthy. If you can get your point across in fewer words, feel free to do so.
- The use of pictures, graphs, tables, protocol forms, etc. is encouraged.
- Describe demographics of institution(s). One sentence should do it.
- Describe the safety issue. One or two sentences here should capture it.
- Briefly describe the practice that addresses the safety issue
- What lessons were learned? What would you do differently?
- Barriers to implementation? One or two sentences here, too.
