COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT FOR PHARMACY PERSONNEL

The Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP) supports the concept of competency assessment for pharmacy personnel. Competency assessment of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should be determined by the individual healthcare system. ICHP recognizes that there are various effective methods or tools for measuring competency. ICHP supports ongoing assessment, based on the practicing pharmacist’s or pharmacy technician job functions to ensure quality patient outcomes.
