Target Audience
Health care professionals including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, quality directors, infection preventionists, facility leadership, and public health professionals across inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings.

Objectives
  1. Summarize regulatory and policy changes as well as recommendations for antimicrobial stewardship at the state and national level
  2. Review current guidelines for appropriate antimicrobial use for particular disease states
  3. Apply effective behavior change and communication techniques to manage patient expectations and enhance health care team engagement towards optimizing antimicrobial use
  4. Discuss evidence-based strategies for implementing and evaluating antimicrobial stewardship programs and interventions
