The Illinois Department of Humans Services in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation has issued a directive regarding Mid-level practitioner (PA's and APN's) prescriptive authority for C-II medications. It is critical that you read this memo
and post it in your pharmacy. While current Illinois law allows mid-level practitioners to prescribe up to 5 different C-II scheduled oral dosage forms, the DEA does not! Your practice may be at risk if you continue to fill these prescriptions!
