IDFPR Releases Draft Practice Act Rules

July 12, 2013

IDFPR Releases Draft Practice Act Rules: At Tuesday’s Illinois Board of Pharmacy Meeting, the staff of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation released a “first draft” of a comprehensive rewrite of the Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act Rules.  The Department staff asked Board members and those in the audience to provide comments by the end of business on Monday, July 22nd.  These comments will then be considered and the next draft will be published in the Illinois Register within a few weeks.  Publication in the Register will initiate a formal 45-day comment period, however the Department staff hopes that this initial comment period will allow much of the discussion to occur before that.

ICHP encourages every pharmacist, pharmacy technician and pharmacy student to read and review these new rule changes and provide comments to the ICHP office at scottm@ichpnet.org by the end of business next Friday, July 19th in order to compile comments and concerns for discussion by ICHP Division of Government Affairs on Monday, July 22nd.  Access the draft by clicking here.
