Are you the type of person that likes to be informed of all that is going on in both your personal and professional life? Do you stay connected through Facebook® or Twitter®, or use your cell phone to stay in touch with friends and colleagues? Well now is your chance to Get Linked into Leadership. Connect with other colleagues in St. Charles, MO for the ICHP/MSHP Spring Meeting on April 14-16, 2011.

This past November, a group of pharmacy leaders met in Dallas for the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative (PPMI). Now is the time for Pharmacy to take a leadership role in the provision of care to improve patient outcomes. Listen to three PPMI participant leaders to learn more about the PPMI and the vision set for pharmacy practice.

In line with this year’s focus on leadership, the keynote speaker will be addressing how to incorporate emotional intelligence (EI) in the workplace in order to improve communication and get results. Dr. Carol Rudman specializes in improving the performance of top management, enhancing the abilities of supervisory personnel, and increasing communication among all employees. A dynamic and much sought-after presenter, she both designs and delivers customized training programs and keynote speeches. Dr. Rudman is an author on various topics related to effective work management. Following the keynote, Dr. Rudman will be facilitating a workshop on EI.

To find out more about all the educational opportunities, go to the ICHP website at www.ichpnet.org.

Get linked into what other health-systems are doing in both Illinois and Missouri by attending the Poster Session. Better yet, submit a poster yourself! Demonstrate the leadership you have taken at your own institution. This is a great way to introduce a program at a state level and get practice for submitting to a national meeting.

Though pharmacy technicians and students can take part in all educational activities during the meeting, there will be special sessions just for you. Reduced registration fees are available for technicians and students, so bring a friend. Be sure to also take advantage of the early bird rates!

Pharmacy preceptors and students can take advantage of a 50% discount on full meeting registration! That’s right – a member pharmacist preceptor and their member student can attend the Spring Meeting for only $130 instead of $260 (early bird rate). The student should be on rotation with you at the time of the meeting. This is a deal you just can’t refuse. It is ICHP’s way to thank all those pharmacists out there who are serving as preceptors.

So join us in beautiful St. Charles, Missouri and Get Linked into Leadership!

Included in the January printed issue of KeePosted is a Spring Meeting poster that we encourage you to remove and display in your department.
