Supports the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy in all clinical pharmacy functions including but not limited to market scans and background for Cell and Gene Therapies. This includes creation and maintenance of utilization management criteria, clinical support of manufacturer negotiations and presentations at the BCBS national Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee. Position will be responsible for being the subject matter expert in all aspects of cell and gene therapies, both those on the market as well as those in the pipeline.

Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develops policies and policy documents for new and existing cell and gene therapy drugs and their accompanying UM criteria. Meets with manufacturers clinical teams to develop an overall criteria
• Presents clinical overviews and new drug evaluations to the national P&T committee as well as the Value Assessment Committee
• Supports manufacturer negotiations from a clinical perspective
• Provides support to internal pharmacy workgroups (NCPE pharmacist, MPP, etc)
• Keeps abreast of and interprets trends within the pharmaceutical marketplace and healthcare industry which could affect pricing, delivery system, and benefit coverage and provider utilization and formulates strategies to respond to trends

Requirements Required Basic Qualifications:
• Masters Degree Pharmacy degree
• Pharmacy License
• 2 Years Pharmacy residency or 1-2 years of work experience in the Health Plan or PBM environment
• Experience that is indicative of the ability to understand how health care and patient care is delivered and how health care professionals interact in the health care environment
• Experience with drug utilization review and formulary programs
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of the Association, Plans, government agencies and vendors
• Communication skills, written and oral
• Technical proficiency with information technologies (Microsoft software applications e.g. Excel) is required
Preferred Basic Qualifications:
• Doctorate Degree, PharmD
