You may attend once as a non-member for free but thereafter must join ICHP as a member. However, those who do not attend and do not cancel within 48 hours of the program will be charged $20.00 to cover expenses. Members who attend the meeting will not be charged the fee. Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this application-based continuing pharmacy education activity, pharmacist participants should be able to:
1. Explain the pathophysiology of decompensated cirrhosis.
2. Identify risk factors that can precipitate variceal bleeds, ascites, and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP).
3. Utilize evidence-based pharmacologic recommendations for a patient who presents with various complications of decompensated liver disease.
4. Explain the mechanism of action of drugs used in decompensated liver disease.
