Patient Journal App - A New, Free Resource to Help with a Hospital Stay

September 28, 2010

Announcing the Josie King Foundation's latest project- the Patient Journal App. This is a free tool that patients and their families can use to record important information related to a hospital stay on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

Anybody can download the app for free through the Apple iTunes Store. Just search for "Patient Journal" or "Josie King" in the Store, or even simpler, use this link: http://itunes.com/apps/PatientJournal.

Based on our successful Care Journal, this app helps you to create a record of a patient's hospital stay. There are places to record information like names of the medical team on duty, medications, procedures, questions to ask the medical team, and more. Users can email a copy of the journal as a permanent record, to another doctor, or to anybody else who should review the details of the hospital stay.

We hope that the Patient Journal app helps take a little bit of stress away from a hospital stay, empowers patients and families to participate as active members in the health care team, and improve communication with health care providers. Please download the app, and share the link with patients and families who could benefit from it. We want this app to help as many people as possible.

If you have any questions or comments about the app, we would love to hear from you. Email app@josieking.org, and we will get back to you quickly.

Thank you, as always, for your support,

Sorrel and the Josie King Foundation
