PTCB Extends March 2013 Recertification Deadline until April 30

by PTCB Staff | Mar 14, 2013
March 15, 2013

Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhTs) due to recertify by March 31, 2013 will remain in “active” status during April, and automatically receive an additional 30 days, until April 30, to submit their recertification applications. Higher than anticipated traffic has caused response times to be inconsistent. PTCB is working continually across multiple fronts to improve system performance. While many CPhTs with the March 2013 recertification deadline have successfully submitted their applications, some users need extra time.

Please note that in the subsequent two-year recertification cycle, recertificants in this group will be expected to recertify by March 31, 2015, rather than April 30, 2015.

PTCB assures our CPhTs, and those applying for certification for the first time, that we are here to support you. This one-month deadline extension is automatic, and there is no need to apply for it.

Letter to employers explaining the deadline extension.

Important Notice About Reinstatement
Reinstatement candidates in this cycle (those who did not recertify before their expiration date in March of 2012) are still subject to their March 31, 2013 deadline to apply for reinstatement.
