About ICHP > Divisions and Committees

Please take a moment to review the information regarding each Division and Committee in ICHP.  These committees meet between four and six times a year.  If you want to be involved, call us at 815-227-9292, email heidis@ichpnet.org, or print and fax the PDF application form to the ICHP office at 815-227-9294.  You may also contact the Division or Committee Chairman directly.  Their contact information can be found on the Board of Directors page.

Division of Government Affairs - Is responsible for reviewing and interpreting proposed legislation and regulation and its impact on public health, pharmacy and related practice. This division will work cooperatively with allied organizations and government agencies on all health care related public policy.

Division of Marketing Affairs - Is responsible for performing an annual membership survey, developing programs to maintain current membership and recruit new members, developing and supporting local affiliates, interpreting principles and ethics of the Council, marketing clinical pharmacy concepts to target audiences, and developing and coordinating all communications and selected activities directed toward the general public and health professionals.

Division of Professional Affairs - Is responsible for improving and promoting pharmacy practice by developing position statements, practice standards, guidelines, competency standards, and related materials that promote rational patient oriented medication therapy. This division is also responsible for identifying and promoting innovative pharmacy practice models in Illinois. The division works cooperatively with allied organizations and government agencies in developing and promoting these responsibilities.

Division of Organizational Affairs - Is responsible for developing and reviewing proposals to change the ICHP constitution and reviewing proposals to change the ICHP constitution and bylaws, organizational structure, and organizational effectiveness. The division is involved in developing and monitoring the implementation of the ICHP strategic planning process

Division of Educational Affairs - Is responsible for developing all Council publications, training programs and educational programs. The division addresses all education issues. The Division provides oversight for the ICHP Midyear and Annual Meeting programming and provides input to the KeePosted editorial committee.

New Practitioners Network - This network is responsible for developing new products, services and educational opportunities to those practitioners new to health-system pharmacy practice. Practitioners who have recently graduated from Colleges of Pharmacy and practitioners who have moved into health-system pharmacy practice for the first time are welcome to participate in the activities that this Network's Executive Committee develop and provide.

KeePosted Committee - Is a subcommittee of the Division of Educational Affairs and is responsible for directing, soliciting and providing the technical content of the ICHP newsjournal KeePosted. The Committee is chaired by the KeePosted Editor and works closely with ICHP office staff to produce ten issues of the newsjournal annually.

Committee on Technology - This Committee is a subcommittee of the Division of Marketing Affairs and focuses its efforts on evaluating and disseminating information on new technologies with applications in pharmacy. The committee develops educational presentations on technology issues that will help members implement new technology issues that will help members implement new technologies rationally into their practices. The Committee provides input to the other ICHP divisions and committees on issues related to technology.
